About Me

Hi there! I’m Kate.

On most weekends, you’ll find me either spending time outside with my family or playing a ridiculously long game of Dungeons and Dragons with my best friends. So far my family hasn’t complained (too much) about my enthusiasm for imaginary adventure, creative problem-solving, and goofy antics, but my newborn and pets can’t really vocalize their annoyance yet.

As someone who has struggled with generalized anxiety as well as selective mutism as a child, I know how important it is to find “your people” – whether that be your family, chosen family, DND friends, or your pets.

I work with pre-teens, teens, and young adults who feel like they’ve lost control to the anxiety in their mind and feel people don’t “get them”. They are trying to regain some power over the anxiety that takes over constantly, while also trying to find others who are “their people”. Having personally walked this path in my own life and therapy journey, I know the value of what a supportive (and fun) therapist can do to make things feel a bit easier; a bit more calm.

If you or your child are walking a similar path, feeling isolated, overwhelmed, or disconnected, then you’ve found your people. It’s me, it’s the other people in my office, it’s the peers in the groups we do here, and it’s so good to have you in this space with us.
