Whether it’s shooting off a powerful spell that brings a bad guy to its knees, figuring out the mysterious puzzle that has eluded you for weeks, or making a really funny joke that gets the whole table laughing — it’s amazing what can happen in the world of D&D.
Now imagine harnessing this already awesome power of the game and strategically using it to build new coping sills, grow confidence, and develop a deeper understanding of yourself with a group of like-minded people!
Group therapy can be just as effective as individual therapy for many types of anxiety, depression, and self-esteem issues. This group will focus on supporting participants with anxiety, self-esteem struggles, and/or depression in a safe, supportive, and creative environment.

Frequency Asked Questions!
Is it okay that I have never played before?
Absolutely! No experience necessary. We will have time to support you will learning how to play and I send out materials before group so that you can familiarize yourself with the game mechanics. We can also schedule 1-2 individual sessions before the group to get you feeling comfortable and to sort out your goals for therapy!
What do the sessions look like?
The first session of our group (session “zero” as it’s called in D&D) is focused on getting to know each other, making group rules, creating characters, and learning the game.
The rest of our sessions will start with a check-in, a mindful/coping practice to ground into our characters, followed by gameplay. About 30 minutes is reserved at the end of the session for group processing and closing out the session.
Who is leading the sessions?
Kate has been playing Dungeons & Dragons for over 6 years and has been a therapist since 2014. She has taken several trainings about implementing D&D in a therapeutic group setting and has two years of DMing experience as well. She’s currently DMing “Wild Beyond The Witchlight” for some of her best friends and family!
How do I sign up?
After you fill out the group interest form below, I will reach out via email so that we can schedule a consultation call where we can talk more about what you are looking for in the group. I can also answer any questions you may have about the process!
